Devotional: A New Week, A Fresh Call
Isaiah 30:21
“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’”
In business: For Christian entrepreneurs beginning a new week uncertain about priorities and direction, this verse reveals that God speaks clearly, guiding us in the specific way we should walk.
It’s a new week. What is the Lord calling you to do? This isn’t a rhetorical question but an invitation to pause and actually listen. Before you dive into your task list, before you react to urgent emails, before you default to what you did last week, ask: what is the Lord calling me to do this week?
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’ God doesn’t leave us guessing. He speaks clearly about the way we should walk.
Perhaps He’s calling you to have that difficult conversation you’ve been avoiding. Maybe He’s prompting you to launch the offer you’ve been perfecting. Possibly He’s directing you to rest when you planned to work, or work when you planned to rest.
The key is listening. In the busyness of a new week, we often charge forward with our own plans without asking what He’s calling us to prioritise. But His way leads to fruitful outcomes, whilst our way leads to exhausting activity without lasting impact. This week’s most important task isn’t necessarily the most urgent one but the one He’s specifically calling you to do.
Our businesses advance this week when we begin by asking what the Lord is calling us to do, then listening for His voice that says ‘This is the way; walk in it,’ and obediently taking steps in that direction.
