Psychology of a Hypocrite from Sura Tawba
🎭 They do not like when Muslims prosper but are pleased when affliction befalls Muslims - "if some good befalls you, it upsets them..." (v.50)
🎭 When called to b@ttle - they'd rather not participate and become sh@hid as they lack faith and trust in Allah (v.50-53)
🎭 They perform prayers 📖”lazily” (v.54)
🎭 Allah gives them abundant wealth/ offspring as a test which will bring them misery -📖“Let not their wealth and children impress you: Allah only desires to punish them with these” (v.55)
🎭 They lack internal peace, are anxious and distraught - “They are a frightened lot (qawmun yafraqun)" (v.56)
🎭 Always in search of an escape route like the deceitful cowards they are - 📖 "if they could find a refuge or a hideout or a hole, they would turn to it in frantic haste" (v.57)
🎭 They only look at their own self-interest and when they think it is not being served, they 📖 "find fault with you" (v.58)
🎭 They are never 📖 “pleased with what Allah and His Messenger gives them” - never have hope in Allah, saying 📖 "hasbunallah - Allah is sufficient for us" (v.59)
🎭 They hurt the merciful Prophet (s) (v.61) and mock Allah, His Signs, His Prophets (v.64-65, 74)
🎭 They are insincere, give false oaths or fake promises (v.56, 62)
🎭 They make excuses when they are caught conspiring, saying: 📖 "We were just gossiping and amusing ourselves" (v.66)
🎭 They "encourage evil" (opposite of Nahi anil munkar) (v. 67)
🎭 They "discourage good" (opposite of Amr bil Ma'ruf) (v. 67)
🎭 They "are tight-fisted" - ie. they do not help the needy, neither their relatives nor anyone else (v.67)
🎭 They have turned away from Allah’s remembrance and Allah’s servanthood - ie. they have 📖 "forgotten Allah so He has forgotten them
