Quick Update : Back after an Accident 🙏🏻
My fiancé and I were involved in a car accident back in February where another driver hit us head on. My fiancé was banged up pretty good. She was in a wheelchair up until a month ago. She’s made almost a few recovery now and is doing great! I had to go through a few surgeries. I’m going through physical therapy for my lower legs, ankles and feet. And I had to get extensive dental work done.
This put a tremendous strain on my financials which wasn’t great to begin with. That’s no surprise.
That brings me to my laptop…
Unfortunately, it was banged up in our accident. I’ve been unable to code and contribute to our program for months because of it. It kills me that this happened because I made a ton of progress here but I’m blessed that I’m still alive & I’ve remained positive that I would return here despite my circumstances.
My positivity paid off because my finance’s brother came through and blessed me with a Macbook Pro knowing about DevPro and me wanting to become a developer. It’s getting delivered tomorrow. I should be back in full force here soon. I cried real tears knowing I’ll be able to code again. I’m deeply appreciative of this opportunity and I’ll never take it for granted.
I have to brush back up on the fundamentals of Javascript. The beginner concepts of functions, event listeners, etc. have stuck with me. I just have to get my muscle memory back which will return very quickly. I’m a few months away from React. That’s my North Star ☝🏻
I want to apologize to anyone who thinks I gave up on development or this program. I want you to know I take all of this very very very seriously. Life came at me fast is all and I’ve been humbled
