Today I ran a half marathon and while the final results were ok they should have been way better.
Distance isn’t a challenge (as I run ultras), however I hate speed work. I kept telling myself all year I’ll just do speed work next week it’s ok to skip today.
In the end, I got subpar results in a race. Which is what I deserve.
Some people are thrilled running a half, I’m not. I started this year telling myself I want to get back to 1:25 pace (my PR). My goal was to qualify for Boston next year. Probably not happening now.
The same thing can happen in business/learning. We hit a certain point or skill set and stop.
I hit a freelancing number a few months ago and stopped grinding Upwork. A big mistake. The YouTube channel hit a monthly view milestone, I stopped trying to improve the videos…
Sometimes you need to reflect on what’s going on and see what action (even if they are small) make a difference.
About a month ago I brought on an editor to help me make better YouTube videos. That way I can focus on thumbnails and titles. It’s starting to work.
I also bought a Runna subscription solely to force me to do speed work. Way too early to tell if it will make a difference.
The group challenge is a way to force myself to try and get new customers. As well as help a few people in this group land their first.
We all get stuck, are you going to find a solution or are you ok with not improving.
I shared some of my biggest regrets/issues. What are some of yours. Let’s help each other.
