Some of you may already know everything here, that's fine, some of you need a reminder if you haven't resold in a while. This is the ideal set up if you're looking to get started reselling from today, not tomorrow not the day after today. Anyway here it is:
How to begin reselling on Vinted/Ebay/Depop in 2026.
1. Equipment
To get started, you gotta have the essentials first. That means a phone to resell on, a mobile number and email to register with. Next you need the stuff to actually ship your products out for small items you’d only need a padded envelope for bigger items expect to need some Cardboard boxes, bubble wrap or wrapping paper, and it also helps to have a label printer, you can get 500 labels for £5 from Amazon.
2. how to source items to resell / flip
There’s two ways of finding items to flip. The first is “sniping” good deals from other sites where people sell their old stuff and relisting them for more money. However with so many bots that snipe these deals its very hard to get into as bots will identify and snipe a deal miliseconds after it goes live. Also too many people notice the real value of their items and cancel the order even after you've purchased the item.
The other way and the best way to find good items to profit off is sourcing items from a supplier at a discounted price overseas where there is too much stock and then reselling them at a much higher price. Most of these suppliers items are genuine and made from the same factories that don’t make it to the shelves due to minor imperfections whereas a few boast being so close to shelf-ready that any imperfections are unrecognizable to an average inspection (loose stitching, old tags, etc.) Just allow returns for any complaints to keep a good reputation. Whichever you decide to do is okay, just don’t be a dick to your customers it really helps your brand to be as honest as possible with the things you sell.
Its available on my website, you can get it here. 3. Listing items (maximise viewership)
There are many sites to list your items on to make sales. The main two are eBay & Vinted. With eBay it’s a lot more brand orientated in the sense your presentation and reputations matters a lot, sometimes this can mean having a lower price for your items until you build a strong reputation where your ratings become and indicator that you can do solid business and provide a smooth shopping experience to your buyers.
Vinted is almost the opposite and Vinted dislikes sellers that appear to be branded or creating a full on business with businesses. If you’re constantly selling new goods or promoting too hard, it is likely your account will be banned so be careful, be as natural as possible and give the impression you’re simply selling the things you don’t need anymore.
4. Packaging and Posting (couriers, packaging)
Now for packaging it’s pretty simply, once the buyer buys your item they’ll pay for the postage for you (vinted only, for eBay you must turn the feature of free shipping on). Now the courier you choose is completely dependent on you. Ask yourself which is the least hassle to you? Is the drop-offs of Evri ridiculously far compared to inpost? Would you like to have tracking with your order for a business that has a reputation and buyers with high standards? Opt for Royal Mail. If you like lockers to ship things out with I’d recommend inpost. Best handling practices I’d say Royal Mail and DPD.
