📢🔪 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT — Road to Sourdough Series 🔪📢
We have a partner for this series and I'm excited about this one because it's a tool I've used and trusted for a long time. Wire Monkey is joining us as our official scoring tool partner, and they're putting up two lames for a giveaway.
Here's who they are and why it matters.
Wire Monkey was started in 2018 by a guy named Tyler who built his first lame to replace his wife's scoring tool made from a coffee stir stick and a razor blade. That origin story tells you everything about the brand. No fluff. Just a craftsman who looked at a problem and built something better.
They invented the original UFO circular lame, and their products are free of plastics and harsh chemicals. They pay fair wages and are based in Fairfield, CT. Wiremonkey Every UFO is produced in their small, family-run shop. These aren't mass-produced tools. Each one is handcrafted from American Black Walnut and built to last.
They make the highest quality bread scoring lames in the world and designed every model to meet the specific needs of artisan bread bakers. Wiremonkey That's not marketing copy. That's just what the tool does in your hand.
This week we're talking about why we score, how scoring works, and how to do it with intention on Henry's Market Day White. The lame you use matters. The angle matters. The confidence of the cut matters. We cover all of it.
Here's the giveaway: Bake with us this Saturday and post a photo of your loaf in the Academy. Do it again next Saturday. Both bakes = two entries. We're giving away two Wire Monkey lames to two members of this community.
Let's score some bread.
