Community project- St Brigid cloak
Inspired by the story of St Brigid and her cloak of protection and generosity, we are inviting our community to come together and create something truly meaningful 💛
This project will see individual crochet squares lovingly made by many hands, then joined into one shared cloak — a symbol of warmth, welcome, strength, and care.
🧵 How to Take Part
• Crochet one square (or more if you wish)
• Any skill level welcome — beginners encouraged
• Colours inspired by nature: cream, greens, soft browns, golds
• Add your own intention into every stitch: hope, healing, peace, protection
🤍 Who Is It For?
• Children & adults
• Complete beginners to experienced crocheters
• Individuals, families, schools & community groups
• Anyone who wants to be part of something gentle and meaningful
🔥 Why St Brigid’s Cloak?
St Brigid’s cloak represents shelter, inclusion, and abundance — a reminder that when we come together, there is room for everyone.
📅 Timing
In celebration of St Brigid’s Day / Imbolc (1st February) — a time of new beginnings, creativity, and light returning 🌱
✨ The Finished Cloak Will Be
• Displayed as a community artwork
• A symbol of unity and care
• Possibly used to support a meaningful cause
