I am filing this complaint regarding inaccurate and/or improperly reported information on my credit report and/or improper debt collection activity.
On [Insert Date], I sent a formal written dispute/validation request to [Company Name] regarding Account Number [XXXX]. This correspondence was sent via certified mail (Tracking Number: [Insert Tracking]).
Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S.C. §1681i – Section 611), credit reporting agencies are required to conduct a reasonable investigation and respond within 30 days. Additionally, under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (15 U.S.C. §1692g), debt collectors must cease collection efforts until proper validation is provided.
As of today, I have either:
• Received no response within the required timeframe
• Received a vague or insufficient response without documentation
• Observed continued reporting without proper verification
• Experienced continued collection activity despite my validation request
This constitutes a failure to comply with federal consumer protection laws.
I am requesting:
• Immediate deletion of the inaccurate account from my credit report
• Written confirmation of the deletion
• Cease of any further unlawful reporting or collection activity
I have attached copies of my original correspondence and proof of delivery for your review.
I expect this matter to be resolved promptly and in accordance with federal law.
