Lower Engagement on Talking Videos
Hello all. I've had this music channel for little over a year. It has mostly been me covering songs on classical guitar, but I also want to get into the generic help for musicians space (goal setting, habit formation, motivation, etc).
My music videos do pretty well for a channel with my sub count, however when I make a video giving advice they're low.
  • I do minimal editing
  • My outline/script is admittedly long
  • I don't have any fancy edits or thumbnails aside from text
  • Most of these videos have been directed at guitarists, but I feel like I should/could expand to all musicians.
I'm trying to keep things relatively "easy mode" and I like the depth of the content I put out, but do I really need to shorten things to 10 minutes to keep attention spans? Maybe the full script should be used in more of a blog/newsletter style format?
