Ashes Into Flight - My Poem of Hope....
I wrote this as a reminder to myself and to anyone carrying heavy change: every loss, every shedding, is not the end but the beginning of another becoming. ...This is my message of hope—rebirth is always possible, even in the ashes....
Ashes Into Flight
I have left pieces of myself
like broken shells along a shoreline.
Some were set down gently,
others ripped away in storms I didn’t see coming.
Each loss was a small death,
and every death left me quieter,
but never empty.
There’s a private ache in transformation.
The skin you shed clings for a while,
like a memory that doesn’t know it’s over.
You grieve it,
you question it,
and still—if you’re brave—you keep walking.
I have learned the ground is not an enemy.
Falling is only the earth pulling you close
so you can rise with steadier legs.
Rebirth isn’t a single miracle;
it’s a rhythm,
a steady tide reshaping you when you aren’t looking.
So I speak to you now,
not as someone untouched by pain,
but as one who has learned to carry it like kindling.
I burn, and from the smoke
I gather new breath.
This is my secret, my offering:
to let go without losing wonder,
to become without apology,
to rise from my own ashes
again,
and again,
and again—
until the person I’ve yet to become
meets the horizon and smiles back....
