Exhaustion...
This is a word we use in our day to day when we have come back from a long trip, long work day or any other events. However, for someone who has lived in an emotional and psychological abuse, there is a deeper meaning to this word. This is the type of exhaustion that transcend the human soul and leaves the person limp from inside.
Strength....
Our strength can come from different sources. It could be from a compliment, word of encouragement or an achievement. We could draw strength from family, financial capabilities and even food if we think of physical strength. Personally, I have required a different type of strength that none of the above mentioned sources could give in my life journey.
God...
The ultimate source of strength. Isaiah 41:10 says, 'Fear not for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God; I will strengthen you; yea I will help; yea I will uphold you with my righteous hand'. In many ways God assured His people (anyone who believes in Jesus Christ) through His word, that He will never leave nor forsake them. What an amazing God we have and what an assurance that we are not alone when we fall into the hands of an abuser for whatever reason we have found ourselves in it.
I would love to share my journey and practical ways God has strengthened me through my journey of separation, divorce and legal proceedings after almost 2 decades in an abusive relationship.
God bless you!
