Hey everyone!
Just discovered Forgive Me Father 2 and I'm absolutely blown away by what I'm seeing! This retro FPS series completely flew under my radar, I guess cus it was a small company? I didn’t see many ads for it.
Anyways, the aesthetic alone has me hooked - it's like a 1920s noir comic book brought to life with this stunning black and white art style punctuated by splashes of blood red. The whole vibe screams classic cosmic horror meets old-school shooter action (if you are into those)
From what I've seen, you're investigating strange occurrences in small towns that have clearly fallen victim to some serious eldritch nastiness (of course). Think classic Lovecraftian themes - forbidden knowledge, ancient evils stirring, reality starting to crack at the seams. Plus there's apparently a madness system that actually impacts how you play, which sounds incredible!
The sequel looks like it's expanded on everything that made the first game special, with even more polished visuals and what appears to be some seriously creepy enemy designs. I like from the first one that all creatures had different actions (like a zombie holding a head, if you shoot him in his own head he puts on the one he was holding). And the animation of the gun and reload is amazing as well.
Anyone here played the first one or tried the sequel yet? I'm definitely adding this to my must-play list - looks like exactly the kind of cosmic horror gaming experience our community would love! (if you are into games :)
