Where are you?
Can I ask you something honest?
How many hours this week did you spend doing work that has nothing to do with why you actually came alive?
I talk to a lot of people in this community who have the career - the title, the salary, the LinkedIn profile that looks exactly right. And somewhere in a drawer, or a corner of the apartment, or a folder on their desktop, there's the work that actually matters to them.
The art. Not as a hobby. Not as a "someday" plan. But as something that feels more like the real job than the job does. The question I keep hearing underneath everything is: can these two worlds actually coexist - or do I have to eventually choose?
I have a strong opinion about this. But first I want to hear where you are.
What's the thing that's keeping the art on the side instead of at the center?
Is it the money doesn't feel reliable enough yet?
Is it not knowing how to position yourself in a market that doesn't know what to do with a corporate-artist hybrid?
Is it that you haven't given yourself permission yet?
Tell me in the comments. No right answer.
