I've been quiet
Hi! I'm sorry I've been quiet in the group. I had great intentions but both of my parents fell down and spent 13 hours on the floor. My mom was rushed to the hospital, she couldn't walk and was incoherent. She was severely dehydrated on the brink of death. She's now in a nursing home for skilled nursing to teach her how to walk, feed herself, brush her teeth, etc, and build her strength and muscles. My dad has been staying with my husband, son, and I at an Airbnb because he's wheelchair bound due to paralysis. I'm not going to lie, it has been a HUGE adjustment but I'm SO thankful for the opportunity to pour all of the love and care they taught me, into them. It's not easy but if you think about it, it's not easy on them either. They would love to not need help and be independent. Even though I'm there to make sure my dad stays upright in his wheelchair, there's still some things he can still do and I step back and praise him for at least trying. I hope I don't sound crazy! My husband, son, and I agreed to sell our house in Texas, move to Louisiana, and have my parents live with us so I can make sure they're properly cared for. In my mind, no one will take care of them like I will. Those two people are my real life heroes! It's TRULY an honor to care for them. Also, I've been given a strong measure of grace in this season. Things that used to annoy me, like smacking, doesn't bother me right now 😂. I know the way forward will not be easy but I've asked everyone to give me some grace because I'm not perfect!
