The best partnerships don't begin with a proposal. They begin with preparation.
Within my Building Business Bonds framework, I call this Strategic Partnership Positioning.
Strategic Partnership Positioning is the intentional process of preparing yourself, your brand, and your message so the right organizations immediately recognize the value of collaborating with you. Successful partnerships aren't built by convincing people, they're built through alignment.
Ask yourself...
🎯 Have you researched the organization before reaching out? Understanding their mission, audience, and goals demonstrates respect and intentionality.
🤝 Does your value complement their mission? The strongest partnerships solve problems and create opportunities for everyone involved.
💬 Can you clearly communicate what you bring to the table? Confidence grows when your value is easy to understand.
🌱 Are you thinking beyond the first opportunity? Lasting partnerships are built for long-term impact, not one-time transactions.
🏆 Will everyone leave stronger than they started? Meaningful collaborations create measurable value for every person involved.
Here's something I've learned...
Organizations don't partner because you ask. They partner because they clearly see how working together creates greater value than working apart. That's The Behavior Behind the Bond.
💬 Question for you:
What's the first thing you research before approaching a potential business partner?
