When NOT to Make a Liaison
Salut! You've learned when liaison happens — today you're learning when it doesn't, which is just as important for sounding natural!

Liaison is forbidden after:
-Groupe nominal verbe
Mon chat est beau
Le train est vite
Le crayon est bleu
-Et — never liaised
Un chat et un chien
-Un H aspiré (Both silent H and H aspiré are silent, so you just got to magically know by practicing)
Je monte en haut
(Also every time I read about H aspiré they give the example of Les haricots, and they say its forbidden, but all my life I heard that liaison pronounced, so maybe France is different than Québec for this particular one)
-Le S/X apporter par Tu
Tu aimes aller au Cinéma
Tu veux un peu de gateau?
-Pronom interrogatifs
Comment était le film?
Quand es-tu arrivé?
Exception: Comment allez-vous ?
-A proper noun ou un nom au singulier
Paris est belle (no liaison on Paris)
Le chat arrive
L'étudiant est grand
-Quelqu'un
Quelqu'un arrive
