Parler — To Speak / To Talk
Salut! Today you're learning parler — and with it, the pattern that unlocks hundreds of French verbs all at once.
Video below
Parler — To speak / To talk
Je parle — I speak / I talk
Tu parles — You speak / You talk
Il / Elle / On parle — He / She / We speaks
Nous parlons — We speak / We talk
Vous parlez — You speak / You talk (formal / plural)
Ils / Elles parlent — They speak / They talk
👉 Same endings every time:
-e, -es, -e, -ons, -ez, -ent
Here's the big takeaway: parler is a regular -er verb, and almost every verb ending in -er follows this exact same pattern.
Learn this once and you can conjugate aimer (to love), manger (to eat), travailler (to work), and hundreds more. (90% of all verb)
Verbs ending in -ir and -re are a different story — most of them don't follow a single pattern, which is why we learn those ones individually!
