In this post I'll be breaking down the fastest strategy I've found to get nebula after spending 112+ hours getting this camo.
After reading this post you'll know exactly what to do (AND WHAT NOT TO DO) when going for Nebula... If you prefer video over text, feel free to check out the YouTube video linked below where I go into much more detail about the strategy!
Now I'm gonna go in depth on each camo class (Military Camos, Special Camos, Mystic Gold, Opal, Afterlife, & Nebula) and I'll even talk about the mistakes I've made that cost me 20 hours of in game time 🤦...
🔫 PRE-GAME SETUP:
Gunsmith (Attachments) - Laser, Scope, Extended Mag, CHF Barrel on all weapons [SET AS ZOMBIE BUILD]
Field Upgrade - Aether Shroud to help with elite zombies. This field upgrade acts as a monkey bomb effect so you can take out the elite zombies fast and effortlessly.
Augments - DEADSHOT AUGMENT! If you don't have deashot researched then do it ASAP, it makes this challenge so much faster. I'd suggest "Dead First" for your Major Augment (One Tap Headshots) and "Dead Break" for your Minor Augment (Faster Kills On Armored Zombies).
Gobblegums - Gobblegums don't help a lot with the camo grind this year! If you want to speed up the initial setup of your games, then gums like perkoholic or crate power help a ton. You can use insta kill gums to help take out the elite zombies!
🧠 IN GAME SETUP (Strategy):
Now here's the big question, what is the fastest map and game mode to grind these camos on?
I've tested 7-8 different spots, and this is by far the fastest & safest spot ⬇️
Load up directed mode on Liberty Falls. Set up on top of the bank roof, don't open the bank doors or the zipline that faces liberty lanes (SEE IMAGES BELOW). Now the zombies won't spawn in the bank below only on the roof!
This is the fastest spot (Anywhere from 37 to 40 seconds per round), and you don’t have to set up the entire map every time like you do on standard mode.
You get guaranteed mangler spawns at the same spot every round as well (see image).
Get all perks (except elemental pop), triple pack a punch your gun, upgrade to legendary rarity using the arsenal, and grind for the next 100 hours 🤣
🪖MILITARY CAMOS:
Now let's get deep into the specific camo classes now!
To start we have the military camos (2000 Critical Kills Per Weapon)
I'm gonna group Assault Rifles, SMGS, Shotguns, Marksman Rifles, Pistols, & Special together because it's the same strategy for all of these. Just sit on top of the bank and grind out those headshots!
Melees: 2,000 normal kills (Bank Roof)
Snipers: 2,000 Criticals (Train Liberty Lanes)
Launchers: 2,000 normal kills (Train Liberty Lanes)
LMGS: 2,000 Criticals (Camp Next To Bench And Device So You Don't Have To Move; See Image)
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS (Explosive Weapons)
There are two weapons that are explosive when you pack a punch them. This makes it impossible to get headshots with these weapons... To counter this, we have to use the base non upgraded versions of these weapons to get headshots 😔
GS45: Start a new game on any map, directed mode. Stay in the spawn (Cap Round 3) get all 2,000 headshots. Unfortunately, this gun does no damage over round 3. To speed up this process pop a perkoholic so you at least have deadshot!
LR.762: Upgrade the sniper to legendary using the arsenal and train zombies in liberty lanes (get all 2,000 headshots).
🎲 SPECIAL CAMOS:
Special camos are very tedious and different for each gun.
Thankfully they are very self-explanatory, and you can complete 95% of them in one game.
Majority of the challenges include putting on a special effect from the arsenal, pack a punch kills, hip fire kills, kills without reloading, kills on zombies effected by tactical equipment, etc.
I don't want to waste your time on this section so I'll just highlight the challenges that you might struggle with.
"Get kills with rare rarity or higher" this means you have to upgrade to blue rarity or higher on the gun your using (spin box or use arsenal)
"Get 30 Vermin Kills" you can complete this on any map. On liberty falls you get vermin rounds frequently, especially when you quit and rejoin the game later. You also spawn vermin by headshoting zombies!
"Get 30 Parasite Kills" I'd suggest completing this on Terminus. This map has parasite rounds, parasites spawn from the spores around the map, a lot spawn while doing the easter egg, and you even get some spawns when you take out vermin.
"Get 300 Point Blank Kills" point blank kills are kills within 2 feet of your character.
🎖️MYSTIC GOLD
Now that we're on the mastery camos we're almost to Nebula!
The challenge for mystic gold is "Get 10 kills rapidly 15 times" with your weapon.
You can easily do this from the roof of the bank or liberty lanes.
One thing I want to mention is you don't have to wait for your meter to reset before getting another 10 kills rapidly, the game automatically resets your meter.
Example: if you kill 50 zombies with one rocket, you'll have 5 out of the 15 medals complete
⌛OPAL [SAVE 20 HOURS]
Unfortunately, I made a huge mistake while going for this camo that cost me almost 20 hours of in game time, so don't make the same mistake I did!
You need to get 30 special zombie kills with every weapon to get this camo (you'll more than likely be taking out manglers).
When I went for this camo, I completed all military camos, special camos, and mystic gold camos first before starting the opal camos on all weapons, but that was the wrong way of doing it...
You can actually work on opal a lot earlier than you think.
Just work on one weapon class at a time, let's use SMGS for this example.
You get mystic gold on all SMGS, now you can start working on Opal on all SMGS.
If you're on Liberty Falls directed mode, you can cap the round at 11. This means you will get a guaranteed mangler spawn every round.
You take out the mangler with your SMG at the beginning of the round then you switch to a different weapon class to get critical kills.
Now you can be super-efficient, getting opal done while you get military camos on another weapon class.
If you do it this way you can save yourself 19+ hours and 990 rounds of extra torture 🤣
🧟 AFTERLIFE
TWO MORE TO GO!
Challenge - "Get 20 Kills Consecutively Without Taking Damage 10 Times"
This should be fairly simple to do for all weapons except the melees and the launchers.
Just camp in a corner on the bank roof for every other weapon.
For the launchers I trained in liberty lanes to get this camo.
Melees are by far the toughest weapon class for this challenge because zombies are extremely fast over round 3, almost making it impossible to complete.
To combat this, we are going to start a new game and get 20 melee kills in the spawn room while the zombies are still slow and one hit with any melee. Once you get 20 kills without getting hit then you'll have to restart the game and do this 10 times. This is very annoying but there is really no other way with the melees!
🏆NEBULA (MASTERY CAMO)
Finally, we're onto the final step of this camo challenge. By now you've gotten all military camos, special camos, mystic gold camos, opal camos, and afterlife camos on at least 33 weapons.
All we need now is 10 Elite Zombie kills per weapon to get Nebula!
I'll show you the fastest strat I've found to do this.
It's required to be on liberty falls for this step as it's the only map with elite zombies at the time of writing this article.
You must progress the easter egg to the point where you deploy the LTG device. After completing the sequence an elite zombie will spawn (Hopefully The Mangler)!
If it's not the mangler then complete the abomination step until you get the mangler next.
Keep in mind you only get one elite zombie per round.
To make this quick you'll need to triple pack a punch a gun of your choice and upgrade it too legendary. With this weapon you'll do the majority of the damage to the mangler but don't kill it yet.
Once the Elite Zombie is low health you switch to the weapon, you're getting nebula for and finish the job.
Rinse and repeat 330 times until you have nebula on all 33 weapons!
CONCLUSION:
This camo challenge was very tough this year but, in my opinion, worth it!
The nebula camo is insane and a huge flex if you have it.
I really hope this article helps you get nebula in under 100 hours because that was my intention. If you have any questions, feel free to drop a comment and I'll answer it!
Watch the video below because I go more in depth with everything covered here and the visuals help a lot 💯
If you made it to this point and you unlocked Nebula, then drop a "🏆"
