Feeling down
I’m sure you’ve felt down many times.
Waking up long before the alarm goes off, but still wanting to keep your eyes shut until it finally rings.
Then it does ring, and you hit snooze—slipping back into the comfort of avoidance. Avoiding the start of the day.
And the strange thing is, the longer you stay in bed, the heavier it feels. As if you’re glued there.
Until eventually, you snap and tell yourself, Enough is enough, and decide to stop wasting time.
That was me this morning.
I had a gym session scheduled for 7 AM. I ended up showing up at 8:30.
Still, I got it done. But the feeling lingers. Maybe it’s just a Monday morning thing. Maybe it’s the lack of proper sleep, building up day after day. Maybe it’s the emotional aftereffects of a few drinks on Saturday. Or maybe it’s all of that, plus some personal issues I don’t quite know how to solve.
Either way, the only way forward is to sit with it, reflect, and try to understand where the problem lies—while still doing the work, especially when you don’t feel like it.
