Spill the Salt
I wanted to share a personal win. Brave Moms helped me realize how much I try to control what my kids (5 and 2) do. My 2 year old found our tactile salt activity pan and started playing in it. My knee-jerk reaction (my knee literally jerked toward her) was to say ‘no’, knowing she would make a mess. Then I caught myself and thought, “She’s learning by experimenting with the texture. So what if I have to vacuum it up?” And I watched her enjoy it. And then it spilled everywhere. And then I vacuumed it up. And guess what? Nothing. Nothing happened. I’m learning to let go! :)
