Creating a "Board" for your LIVE - quick steps

What Is a Board?

A board, also called a banner or billboard by some creators, is a customizable text overlay that appears on your live screen. It tells every new viewer exactly what your LIVE is about the moment they land in your room without you having to stop and explain it. It is one of the most powerful and most overlooked features in TikTok Live.

How to Set Up Your Board (Step by Step)

Step one. Before you press Go Live, tap the plus button at the bottom of your TikTok screen, then swipe to the LIVE option.

Step two. On the live setup screen, tap the three dots or the settings icon. This is where your board options live.

Step three. Look for Boards, Banners, or the text overlay option in your settings panel. The name may vary slightly depending on your app version.

Step four. Tap to create a new board. You can add a headline, a prompt or question for your viewers, choose your font, colors, and borders.

Step five. Save your board before you go live so it is ready to activate the moment you press go.

Step six. Once you are live, activate the board from your settings or tools panel. It will display as an overlay on your screen for your viewers to see.
