HOW I TYPICALLY OPEN/DO CALLS & THE QUESTIONS I ASK
“Hey (Client’s Name) ! It’s Hannah from Sparrow and Lace. How are you?”
“How is your day going? How’s wedding planning been going?”
“Well, if it works for you, I’m going to start the call by asking you a few questions, just to get a feel for what you’re envisioning for the day. And then after that, you can ask me any questions you might have! Does that sound good?”
“Just to confirm, your wedding is at (Venue). Is that where getting ready, ceremony, and reception will all be taking place?”
“Do you have a specific feel/vibe you’re going for?”
“Are you planning on having a wedding party–if so how many on each side?”
“Are you planning on doing a first look?”
“Approximately what time is the ceremony happening, and how long are you anticipating the ceremony lasting?”
“So reception starting around…”
“Do you have a specific end time?”
“Are you planning on doing any sort of formal exit, like sparklers or a private last dance?”
“Just to confirm, is (Package They Chose) still the package you’re leaning towards?”
“Perfect, and that package comes with (X AMOUNT) of Add-Ons. Did you get a chance to look through those, and is there anything you’re leaning towards?”
NEW & IMPROVED CALL OUTLINE/QUESTIONS
“Hey (Client’s Name) ! It’s Hannah from Sparrow and Lace. How are you?”
“How is your day going? How’s wedding planning been going?”
“I’d love to use this time to understand what your vision for the day is, and chat through any questions you might have about me and my process. I’ll start by asking you some questions about your day, and then I can answer any questions you might have and walk you through how to reserve your date. Does that sound good?”
“So just to make sure I have all of the details correct — your wedding is on [DATE] at [VENUE], yes?”
“Is getting ready, ceremony, and reception all in that location?”
“Okay, moving away from logistics and into the nitty gritty…When you think about your photographs years from now, what do you hope they hold?”
“Do you imagine your images feeling candid and storytelling, or gently posed and guided — or a mix of both?”
“If you had a PERFECT photography experience, what would that look like for you?
“I would also love to know what made you book a call with me–what draws you to my work?”
“What would help you feel 100% confident that we are the right photographer for you — is it connection and shared vision, seeing similar galleries, understanding the process, something else?”
“Beautiful — I’ll send over your proposal and contract. Once I send that over, I verbally hold your date for two weeks, to give you time to look over everything and make any final decisions. I ask that you return the signed contract and deposit by the end of those two weeks, and then your date is officially reserved!”
THREE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
  1. Does every package come with two photographers?
  2. How long will photos take on the day of?
  3. We feel awkward in front of the camera, how will you help us not look awkward?
