This morning, I was convinced my temperature probes were done for.
In the oven at 280°F, one was reading 303°F and the other 284°F.
Even worse, in boiling water one showed 167°F… and the other 206°F. 😳
I was this close to throwing them out.
But luckily, I did one last test: I simply swapped the probes into the opposite ports… and boom!
Both instantly read 212°F in boiling water. 🫨🔥
Conclusion: the probes weren’t the problem — the receiver/ports were giving weird readings.
Good thing I tested them by switching ports, or I would’ve thrown away two perfectly good probes!
Moral of the story:
➡️ Always test each probe in each port before declaring a probe dead.
➡️ Boiling water never lies. 😉
