A few things I’ve noticed when applying on Upwork:
- Getting a response after applying usually takes 3 to 7 days, and sometimes even longer. I rarely get jobs on the same day. Most of the time, it takes a while before they decide to reach out.
- It sucks to pay for connects, but after landing a few jobs, you’ll be able to pay for connects with the money you earn.
- Telling clients it will take 1 day won’t make them any happier. Saying 2 days and then delivering in 1 day will. I’ve noticed that when I say 1 day, they just say ‘okay,’ but when I say 2 days and deliver in 1 day, they get really happy.
