Poem
Life
Life is a force
It breaks you open, then teaches you
How to rise.
It sharpens the spirit, steadies the bones,
turning every scar into a doorway longing,
to be found
Don't hammer it shut; allow it to open
Some scars need to be revealed, so
We can be healed.
It's heavy its holy
And at times it's bright enough to blind you
dark enough to teach you what your own hands
are made of
Dragging you through nights that feel so long
When thoughts turn into storms
like a match burning in the wind
Or days when it just seems like you won't win.
Life is a force-
dark enough to humble you
bright enough to save you
real enough to hurt you
and human enough
to make every scar
mean something
And somehow you are still here
still standing
still learning
still carrying a heart
that refuses to quit.
Life is a force, isn't it?
