Today is Nollaig na mBan.
Little Christmas.
The Women’s Christmas.
In Ireland, this is the day when the work is set down and the women gather.
The decorations may come down.
The fire is lit again.
The table belongs to friendship.
There are no expectations today.
Only cups of tea.
Shared food.
Laughter that arrives without effort.
This is a day to honour the quiet strength of women.
The ones who carry.
The ones who remember.
The ones who hold the warmth through winter.
Nollaig bheag shona daoibh.
Happy Little Christmas.
May today be gentle.
May you feel seen.
May the year begin with kindness.
