Best practices to avoid SURBL issues on new cold outbound domains
Hi everyone,
I’m about to swap a few cold outbound domains after seeing deliverability issues, and before starting again with new domains, I’d like to make sure I’m following the right best practices.
For those with experience managing multiple outbound domains, what would you recommend to reduce the risk of getting listed on SURBL or similar blocklists?
I’m especially interested in best practices around:
  • Domain naming strategy
  • Technical setup and DNS
  • Warm-up and ramp-up speed
  • Sending volume per mailbox/domain
  • Email copy and link usage
  • Tracking links and redirects
  • Landing pages linked in emails
  • Anything else that can trigger domain-level reputation issues
My goal is to rebuild the setup properly instead of just swapping domains and repeating the same mistakes.
Any concrete recommendations or lessons learned would be really appreciated.
