Hey everyone,
I just realized that I probably should have been the one to open up this conversation and not have expected you all to go first! I really appreciate all the engagement.
My name’s Riley. I grew up in northern Alberta, but I have lived in a few places around Alberta, BC, and even in Australia at one point. I absolutely love traveling, snowboarding, hiking, 4x4ing, and really anything that has to do with nature or water! 🏄 As of June last year, I have been extremely focused on my entrepreneurial journey. I'm the type of person that craves responsibility and I seem to be wearing many hats at the moment. Here's a glimpse of what I have going on in my professional life:
- I'm starting Western Canada's first personal protective equipment recycling program to help divert waste materials from our landfills so they can be properly recycled and turned into new products.
- I'm extremely close to making my first sale of protective safety gloves I've designed.
- I'm performing research & development into designing a safety impact glove made from cutting edge materials.
- I'm working with engineers to create a patentable design for pets.
- I’m performing property management services for a homeowner so I can learn about real estate through him.
- And of course, my involvement in this community.
I came up with the idea for this group because I’ve always felt the desire to help others, but I never really knew how. I didn’t believe I was capable of helping others since I was never really in the best place myself.
Four years ago, I started to gain interest in personal development as I knew the life I created was not where I wanted to end up. Since then, I’ve struggled to stay consistently focused, but over the years, I have really pushed myself to become better by focusing on the little things.
I want to share my experience, learn from others, hold people accountable, and be held accountable. I believe a support community for personal development that focuses on honesty could be extremely beneficial for everyone.
Right now, I’m working on trying to calm my mind through meditation practices as it’s racing 24/7. I’m also focusing on staying consistent with my journaling since it’s pretty much the only thing that gets me to sleep at night. I’m still trying my best with sobriety, currently struggling with weed. I seem to do well for months, then fall off the bandwagon for a bit and get into a state of depression.
I’m no guru, just an honest and open person on a journey of self-improvement. Whether we’re at different points in our journeys or facing similar challenges, we can support each other in meaningful ways.
Thanks for reading. If I end up helping just one person from this community, then I believe the money I’m spending to keep this group open will be 100% worth it. Skool is kind of expensive, so please understand that I’m making a small sacrifice in hopes of your engagement to help others and myself. :)
