To everyone who wants to become an actual Artist and is so sick of Overthinking.
So you might sit down and intend to start a drawing. You look at what you want to draw, and make a few lines on the paper.
A doubt: “Well this already looks like crap.”
Another doubt: “I’m shit at this. This was supposed to be a nice experience, not a frustrating one.”
I take a breath, I dare to make another small move. It’s wrong, I scrap the whole paper. I am anxious as f inside. “Why did I think I could be good at this?”
The less I do though, the more I freak out, the more I feel like it’s impossible to achieve my dreams.
The less I do, the more I realise I have DONE NOTHING. Fuck.
If you looked at me from an outside perspective I just sat there, still for hours staring at a paper,
my brain invisibly boiling with thoughts.
Things that aren’t there pester me fucked up.
The cost of overthinking is an Master Artist’s life you could’ve lived, instead of bathing yourself in cortisol. You could’ve made Masterpieces.
Could’ve felt like a boss from your overwhelming amounts of SKILL, throwing out next level shit like it’s nothing.
Could’ve been truly happy with yourself.
Could’ve felt Fulfilment and FLOW STATE, addicted to making art for 6 hours straight, forgetting to eat.
Could’ve been CRAVING to see your own art, because it’s custom to your taste and better than heaps of what you see online.
Could’ve really understood art and artists.
Acting like this will make you feel below, deemed a normie forever.
Overthinking kills your dreams.
SKILL = TIMES YOU TRIED.
Every 10 shit pieces of art will make the next 10 better. The more you draw, the sooner you’ll be a Master Artist.
NOW MOVE.
STEPS TO FOLLOW TO WIN.
1. Do you know what you’re gonna draw? If not, you have 1h today to decide.
2. Draw what you wanted to draw. Made a mistake? Try fix it or start a new one. It is okay to throw away a drawing. Try again and again and AGAIN and you’ll be a MASTER.
