Walking well on 6 ft leash but having trouble with long leash

Quick question, so Ghost is walking really well on a 6 ft leash but every time we put him on the long leash, he continues to jump up on us and think we are playing, even with doing the corrections you told us to do. Do you have any other suggestions? Also, he has so much skin on his neck, that the choke collar is causing little sores and redness. Should we take a break from training with it or is there a different collar we should use?
