My First Cold Calls

Hey everyone!

Today I finally pushed myself to make my first cold calls, and I wanted to share my experience.

Before the first call, I was honestly pretty nervous. I had my script ready, but actually pressing the call button was the hardest part. 😂

Here's how it went:

First call: I introduced myself and explained that I build websites for local businesses. The owner politely told me they already had someone handling their website, so I thanked them and moved on.

Second call: This one went much better! I spoke with another business owner who seemed genuinely interested. He asked about pricing, and I quoted around €200 upfront + €30/month for maintenance.

He said the price sounded okay and agreed to take a look at a demo website I had prepared specifically for his business.

I sent him the preview on WhatsApp, and now I'm waiting for his feedback.

No closed deal yet, but going from being afraid to make a phone call to actually discussing pricing with a potential client feels like a big step for me.

For those of you with cold calling experience:

Would you recommend following up with a call after 2–3 business days? And what would you improve about my approach?
