Question from Erik Patrick
What inspired you to start this community and bring these different areas together?
To be honest, it was suffering.
I often found myself wondering, “Why does everyone suffer?”
I remember seeing a child who met with a tragic accident and lost his life. My heart went out to the child and his family. I couldn't stop thinking about it.
I kept asking myself:
“He had done nothing wrong. Then why did this happen to him?”
“How does this universe work?”
“Why do human beings experience suffering?”
These questions stayed with me and gradually drew me toward Buddhist teachings and meditation.
I began exploring the Buddha's teachings more deeply, including the teachings preserved in the Tipiṭaka, while also observing life, human experiences, and my own mind. I started practicing meditation—not simply to learn about peace, but to experience it.
And then, during practice, something very simple yet profound happened.
A moment of peace arose within me.
It made me realize that perhaps wisdom is not only something to read or understand intellectually. It is something we can explore, practice, and experience within our own lives.
That is what inspired me to create this community.
I want to bring together Buddhist and Zen stories, Dhamma, meditation, mindfulness, reflection, and everyday life—not simply as subjects to study, but as tools for understanding ourselves more deeply.
I don't claim to have all the answers.
I am simply walking this path myself, and I would love to share what I discover along the way.
And if, through this community, I can make a difference in even one person's life—help someone find a little more awareness, a little more understanding, or perhaps one moment of peace—
that would be meaningful enough for me.
🙏 With Metta,
Sujata
