The Tree of Life
Fancy some tasty old world wisdom for breakfast friend?
This is the Tree of Life. It is an ancient conceptual diagram and metaphysical map that symbolizes the structure of consciousness and how it expresses itself in creation. It appears within many religious and spiritual manifests and as such there are many variations of this divine pattern. It has been adapted and rediscovered many times. The origin of all forms is the morphogenic field.
It is comprised of 12 points, 10 are visible, 1 is invisible and 1 refers to pattern itself.

The 10 interconnected circles on the Tree of Life are called Sephirah, which means 'count' in Hebrew. They symbolize the 10 emanations of the divine through which the infinite becomes the finite. Each circle is a level of consciousness and realm of specific characteristics, processes, and forces existing in the Cosmos and the Self. The 22 paths connecting them are called Navitoth, meaning private/ personal pathways, and these describe the unique interactions and relationships between levels along 3 horizontal paths, 7 vertical paths and 12 diagonal paths.

Rooted in the heavens, the tree of life grows top to bottom, flourishing oppositely. Divine energy flows along pathways in both directions. The descent of divine energy from above is called the Path of Creation or the Path of Enlightenment. This descent is expressed symbolically as the Lightning Flash Path, shown as a sword bent into the jagged path of a lightning strike. Each sephirah is touched, from the Crown with its roots at the top right through to the Kingdom at the bottom. This is the path of source and the experience of enlightenment.

The Path of Redemption is the ascent of mundane energy from below. This is the Path of the Serpent sometimes called the Path of Ascension. It is symbolically represented by a snake that coils around each of the twenty-two pathways on the tree. The serpent winds in and around each path but unlike the source energy it does not touch the sephirah themselves, or leave the central pillar. This is the path of return and the experience of Ascension. (see image)

There are 3 pillars in the Tree of Life. The central or middle column on the tree is called the Pillar of Mildness. It is also referred to as the Pillar of Consciousness. It represents balance, neutrality and equilibrium. The pillar to the right is called the Pillar of Force. It is also called the Pillar of Mercy. It represents expansion, positive charge and is considered masculine. The pillar to the left is called the Pillar of Form. It is also called the Pillar of Severity. It represents contraction, negative charge and is considered feminine. (see image)

All 10 levels of Creation on the tree are used to describe divine interactions between the hidden, non-manifest and inaccessible in relation to the manifest, dynamic and accessible. It allows infinite formless space to reveal itself as it continuously creates both
the physical realm and the chain of higher metaphysical realms.

As manifestations of Supreme Being, the sephirah are also numerically parallel- they are the digits 0-9. They can refer to any and all aspects of the divine. The stages in the 'I AM' revelation, the path of the individual hero's journey, phases of greater life, expressions of cosmic states and natural forces, principals within the universe, archetypes of the human soul, possible courses of action, even internal impulses.

The last digit in the creation process is 9, with the kingdom being what was created. The endpoint of the Tree is the culmination of the flow from Crown through the Sefirot system, from what is possible to the actual, what manifests or is expressed. The color is brown for the grounding in reality. Brown is also the color resulting from the mixture of all the Sefirot colors above.

The Tree of Life teaches us that all life is bound into unity which descends from the Most High to the world beneath. It aims to show that everything in the universe is interdependent, that everything forms as an inseparable whole. It asserts that man can never be separated from his soul, his source or his origin. As above, so below. As within, so without. As below so above. As without so within.
