Day 5 Before & After: The Windshield

BEFORE

He just clocked out of work. The parking lot is almost empty. He sits alone in his car with the engine off, staring through the windshield long after everyone else has driven away. Everyone sees the steady job, the responsibility, and the smile—but no one sees how hard it is to keep carrying a dream that has taken longer than expected. He presses play, and as he listens, the song reminds him of himself. It touches the quiet questions he’s been carrying.

AFTER

The song ends, but he doesn’t start the car right away. It reminds him that delay does not mean denial—that some seasons are meant to prepare him, strengthen him, and teach him what he will need for the purpose ahead. He glances at the rearview mirror, then looks back through the windshield. Listening to the song, he realizes there is more in front of him than behind him. He takes a deep breath, turns the key, and drives home believing that his dream is still alive and that the waiting has not been wasted.
