While timing is everything, delay is a double edged sword. We all have experienced acting in haste, only to realize the situation would have resolved itself or been better managed at a later date. The issues with delay are several. Firstly, we trigger the physical energy saving mode that we are all biologically set to to save calories. While my has been shared and written about the evils of procrastination, there is a survival limp mode in all of us to conserve effort until a for sure outcome can be obtained. But the great danger of delay is the active mental load of carrying unresolved tasks in a mental to do list. By clearing up issues, chore or goal as soon as possible we free our mental and emotional capacity to focus on the next higher priority. So become the enemy of delay. Seek to trim excess fat of processes and work prep and get the main things done as soon as possible. This will mark you as a leader and go getter and increase mental stamina by reducing mental to do list.
