This session is such a game changer for me. I can be the world's most nervous person. (hahaha!) just on that I have been intentional lately about the words I speak because words have power to shape our futures, so want to frame that better. This is my daily challenge to regulate my breath and take my time before I speak, before and when I am dancing also, as well as when interacting with people daily. My big challenge this week and what I am going to implement in my screen acting class is the physiological sigh! and just before I film my scene. The camera does not lie and you can see nerves clearly on screen. This will help me to be more present. Stop thinking of my next line and be present with scene partner. Also when teaching, I teach a Zumba class twice a week and a Broadway cardio fitness class. I have been intentional about my breath to get through those routines and be able to speak to my class. This technique is everything and will help me in regulating the nervous system and get through my class. Amazing!
you will so relate. I did a non pro show of Cats in 2008. I played Skimble. (ohh i dream of playing him professionally) the breathing - omg - singing, dancing was an absolute biatch! lol! I remember breathing deep in that diaphragm. The challenge for me was singing, dancing because I would take short snatch breaths and it almost killed me hahaha. Thankyou for todays teaching.
