How Workplace Dynamics Impact Us—and What We Can Do About It
Hey, Align & Thrive family! I want to share something I came across that really hit home. A recent Harvard study looked at the challenges Black women face in the workplace, and the findings are sobering:
• Black women are 51% more likely to leave their jobs than White women.
• We’re 26% less likely to get promoted on time.
• Being on predominantly White teams makes these challenges even worse, increasing turnover and lowering promotion rates.
This is more than just a workplace issue—it’s about how systemic inequities affect our ability to thrive. And this is exactly why this community exists: to empower you with the tools to set boundaries, navigate challenges, and reclaim your time and energy.
How can we show up for ourselves in spaces that weren’t designed for us?
Let’s discuss in the comments! What strategies have worked for you to advocate for yourself or protect your energy at work?
And if you’re feeling stuck, don’t forget about the resources we’ve created here. Check out the Boundary Baseline Worksheet or join the Boundary Reset Challenge to take the first step.https://ninaroussille.github.io/files/LMR_2024.pdf
