The First Answer Wasn't Good Enough
I have to share something I learned while working with ChatGPT on a new offer for my real estate business.
I originally asked it to help me create a seller landing page. The first idea it gave me was a free home evaluation.
It sounded good at first, but then I thought, “Wait a minute. Every Realtor offers a free home evaluation. What is going to make mine any different?”
So I started asking more questions.
What are other agents already offering?
What are sellers still worried or confused about?
What do homeowners really need before they decide whether to sell?
How can I help someone without making them feel like I am immediately trying to get their listing?
The more I questioned the original idea, the better it became.
What started as a basic home evaluation turned into The Taylor-Made Seller Decision Plan.
This would help homeowners look at more than just the possible value of their home. It would help them compare their options, understand what they may actually walk away with and decide which path makes the most sense for their life.
Here is a prompt you can use to look for a better offer in your own business:
“I am a [profession] helping [your audience]. Right now, I am thinking about offering [describe your offer].
Tell me what other people in my industry are already offering. Then show me what my customers still need, worry about or have questions about that those offers are not addressing.
Give me five ways I could fill one of those gaps. Tell me which one would be the most valuable to the customer, realistic for me to deliver and most likely to lead to a paying client.
Be honest with me. Do not just agree with my original idea. Help me make it better.”
What I learned is that the first answer ChatGPT gives us does not have to be the final answer.
Sometimes we have to keep asking questions until we get past the obvious idea and find the one that actually feels right.
Have you ever challenged ChatGPT’s first answer and ended up with something completely different?
