Hey everyone 👋
I'm exploring the idea of using a voice AI agent for cold calling leads in the U.S., and I want to make sure everything I build is 100% compliant with regulations like:
- TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act)
- National & State DNC (Do Not Call) lists
- FCC rules on automated and AI-based calls
I understand that the U.S. has very strict rules when it comes to outbound calls — especially when AI or pre-recorded voices are involved. From what I’ve gathered so far, things like prior express written consent, human-initiated dialing, and clear opt-out mechanisms are essential.
But here’s what I’d love to know from this awesome community:
👉 Has anyone here built a voice agent (AI or otherwise) that’s fully compliant for cold calling in the U.S.?
- How did you handle DNC list checks?
- What platform/tools did you use for consent and compliance?
- Any lessons learned or mistakes to avoid?
- Is it even viable to cold call using AI legally — or better to stick to human reps?
I’m building this for a healthcare-focused agency, so regulatory risk is a serious concern. If you've done something similar, or even tried and pivoted, I’d really appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks in advance! 🙏
