I built and submitted a paid iPhone app in one evening.
Not a game.
Not a giant SaaS.
Not some complicated app with logins, subscriptions, dashboards and a million moving parts.
Just a simple little paid utility called Camp Amp.
The idea came from spotting a boring App Store gap:
Caravan, campervan and campsite users need to know if their electric hook-up will trip when they run things like a kettle, heater, fridge, microwave or hairdryer.
That’s it.
Very boring.
Very useful.
Exactly the kind of tiny app AI makes possible now.
The process was basically:
Find a niche problem
Pressure-test the idea with GPT
Write a proper build brief
Use Codex to build the app
Test it in Xcode
Create the App Store copy and screenshots
Submit it to Apple
All in one evening.
Then I used KlipZi.com to make the trailer/promo content for it. That’s the bit I think people are sleeping on.
AI can help you build the thing.
Then AI video can help you promote the thing.
That used to be two separate skill sets, a developer, a designer, an editor and a load of time.
Now one person can move ridiculously fast.
I’ve put together a free playbook showing the process behind building a simple paid iOS app with AI in twenty four hours.
No coding background needed to start.
Just a Mac, Xcode, GPT, Codex, an Apple Developer account, and one small useful idea.
Comment AI APP and I’ll send it over.
