Final Free Weekly Live Call Recap + What Changes in January
That was our final Weekly Live Call for the year, and also the last one that’s free.
Big thanks to everyone who jumped on from all over!! We had in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam, and and , who both live in Bangkok, Thailand, back again too! We even had a bit of Christmas chat first, then got stuck into what’s really been happening in cold email lately.
Here are the simple takeaways:
• Data beats “better copy” most days. Chris shared how a 500-lead scrape can turn into 80 usable leads after cleaning, verifying, and removing Google emails. So yep, list quality matters more than people think.
• LeadSwift can work, but it’s messy. It pulls in weird results and doesn’t let you filter as tightly as you’d want. It seems way better for trades keywords like “roofing contractor” than broad stuff like “pickleball”.
• Copy still matters, but clarity wins. When we reviewed the Pickleball Passport emails, the big note was: add one more line of context so people instantly get what you’re offering, and why you’re reaching out. A playful angle like “escape the US winter” can be a strong hook too.
• Soft CTAs are the move. The “happy to test with 50 old quotes/leads” type close is simple, low pressure, and easy to say yes to.
