THE PROBLEM
@DrB does $50K/year through a practitioner-only supplement company (Nutritional Frontiers). He recently placed a $7,000 order that sat in processing for 7 days with zero alerts. His patients — cancer patients, chronically ill people, people whose health depends on these supplements arriving on time — were left waiting. He's not alone. Another practitioner doing $50-75K/year left the company entirely over the same issue. The problem: no system exists to flag high-value orders that are stalling in processing.
THE IDEA
Build and sell an AI-powered order alert system to supplement companies (and similar fulfillment businesses) that flags VIP orders the moment they stall in processing. The system monitors order status, identifies high-value clients, and pushes alerts to the right people before the order becomes a crisis. Sell it directly to the companies whose fulfillment is failing their best customers.
THE BUSINESS ANGLE
Nutritional Frontiers is just one company — this problem exists across the practitioner supplement industry and beyond. Any B2B fulfillment company with VIP clients and aging warehouse operations needs this. These companies are often run by non-technical operators who aren't going to build this themselves. Price it as a SaaS tool or a one-time implementation + retainer. The cost of losing one $50K/year practitioner far exceeds whatever this system would cost.
THE PROCESS (via @DrB)
- Document the exact failure point — where do orders stall, what triggers the alert need, who needs to be notified
- 2. Map out the existing order system at the supplement company (API access, or manual data input)
- 3. Build a Claude-powered monitoring workflow that checks order status and fires alerts past a threshold time
- 4. Package as a pitch: "Here's what your VIP client loss is costing you. Here's the fix."
- 5. Sell to Nutritional Frontiers first as the warm intro, then expand to similar companies
WHO'S BUILDING THIS
@DrB — He has the industry relationships, the personal pain point, and direct access to the decision-makers at the company. He knows the owner well enough to call him directly when things go wrong.
NEXT STEPS
→ @DrB documents the exact failure scenario to share at the next call
→ Claude analysis: what does a basic order-alert monitoring system look like and what would it cost to build?
→ Identify whether Nutritional Frontiers has any API or data export capability
→ Revisit on next call with initial feasibility assessment
