From Foam to Fine Art: Reimagining Styrofoam in AI
Next time you’re about to throw away a piece of packing foam, look closer. It’s not trash—it’s an asset.
Ok, so this isn't related to character design, but it IS relevant to environments FOR our characters.
A few months ago, I bought a shelving unit. After assembling it I had to round up all the packaging to take to the recycle center. While I was loading it up, I noticed the larger pieces of styrofoam looked like little sci-fi buildings. Long story short, I arranged them on the floor of the garage and started taking photos with my phone. I must have snapped about 40 or 50, planning to use them for reference later.
Later that weekend, I uploaded them to Google Flow as a start image, applied my standard environment prompt for brutalist cyberpunk architecture, and got some pretty neat results.
What household objects can you turn into environments for your characters?
