New video: Gemma 4 + Ollama = FREE Claude Code
You can run google's latest and greatest model with Claude Code ! The Gemma 4 model is 20x smaller compared to model that have same intelligence. This model comes in 4 sizes, but if you install smaller versions, the gap to Anthropic's model is significant.
Assuming you have a regular laptop, the model you can install only works for very simple tasks: categorization of e-mails for example. It is also slow.
NOT suitable for heavy programming projects.
I would recommend paying for the official models.
