Hey guys, one of our members pointed something out to me that was a great catch. A lot of people who are not based in the US or Canada, like people based in Pakistan, Dubai, etc are struggling to buy a US based phone number inside GHL. This is because of a new GHL compliance rule which asks to verify your identity before buying a number (this was not the case when I made that course video originally). So if you are not based in the US and want to buy a number please skip that step in GHL for now. But, don't worry as we do have a solution. For now please skip this part. You don't need a number for now. The number is optional and is only for cold calling purposes in marketing modules later. For now, don’t keep trying to buy the US number inside GHL. Here’s what I recommend:
Use GHL as your CRM first:
- Set up your GHL account.
- Import the snapshot.
- Use it for your pipeline, contacts, follow-ups, calendars, workflows, and client management.
- You do not need the GHL phone number working on day one to start building and selling.
Do not use fake US/UK details:
- Don’t select another country unless you actually have valid ID from that country.
- Don’t use fake addresses, VPN tricks, or someone else’s identity.
- That can cause account issues later.
For a US number, use AVOXI later:
- Instead of buying the number inside GHL, go to AVOXI and buy a US virtual phone number there. Do this later when doing cold calling.
- Use AVOXI for outbound and inbound calls.
- Use GHL separately to store the leads, manage the pipeline, and track conversations.
How to use both together:
- Call businesses using your AVOXI number.
- When someone is interested, add them into GHL as a contact.
- Move them through the pipeline inside GHL.Add call notes manually inside GHL after important calls.
So for now the setup is:
GHL = CRM, pipeline, automations, calendar, client management
AVOXI = US phone number and calling
I’m going to update the training for Pakistan/international students because the original phone-number setup works differently for people in the US/UK compared to Pakistan. For now, don’t waste more time on the Persona verification inside GHL. Continue setting up GHL as the CRM and later you can use AVOXI for the US calling number and giving it to VAs.
