Practicing teaching STOP and looking for feedback :)
can you take a look at my mechanics? Is it ok that I have the treats in my hand while I’m doing this? We just progressed from just saying STOP and GO while out for walks to chasing a plain kibble and saying STOP during the chase. Is this too big of a jump in difficulty or just right? I do have to position my body between him and the treat. Also is the command ‘stop’ too close to ‘spot’? Didn’t realize it until I was already training it. He also has the cues ‘sit’, ‘speak’ and ‘spin’. Hope I’m not confusing him 😅Looking forward to hearing tips and feedback!
Anyone else working on or have taught your dog STOP? Would love to hear the steps you took and how you progressed from the basics to real life scenarios!
