When's the last time you wanted something that wasn't for somebody else?
Not a goal. Not a should. Not the thing you're supposed to want.
Something you actually wanted.
Take your time. That pause you just took is the post.
Here's what nobody says out loud: you can build a life where nothing is wrong and still wake up with nothing pulling you into the day. The alarm goes off. Before your feet hit the floor you already know exactly how the whole thing plays out. Nothing bad in it. Nothing you're moving toward either.
Men call that being tired. It isn't. It's what happens when you spend years answering everybody else's questions and stop asking your own.
So I'm asking:
What's the last thing you wanted for you — and what happened to it?
Drop it below. It can be small. It can be old. It can be something you'd feel stupid saying out loud — say it anyway. Honest beats impressive here.
I'll go first in the comments.
And I'll tell you what I've found: the wanting didn't leave. You buried it because you stopped believing you'd follow through, and wanting something you won't chase hurts worse than not wanting it at all. That's not a motivation problem. That's a self-trust problem. It's fixable, and it's the work.
If what you typed hit harder than you expected — don't sit on it.
You are your only limit. Let's do this. — Aaron
