Today, if you catch yourself replaying a conversation — rehashing what you said, wondering if you should've said it differently, running tomorrow's meeting in your head for the fifth time — you get 2 minutes. Timed.
Set it. Let yourself think about it, fully, for those 2 minutes.
When the timer ends, say it out loud: "That's done, I'm moving." Then physically do something else — stand up, change rooms, pick up your phone and call someone. Break the loop with your body, not just your mind.
Here's the truth about replaying: it doesn't fix anything. It just rehearses the version of you that got it wrong, on repeat, for free. The loop was never really about the conversation — it's about proving to yourself you can't be trusted to handle things without going back over them.
Don't lose focus. Every minute spent replaying is a minute not spent moving forward.
Catch yourself once today, use the cutoff, and drop below what you were replaying and how long it actually took you to let it go.
