The Loop Close
Before you drift off to sleep tonight, take a moment to do this. It’ll take you less than 2 minutes. Reflect on your day. Identify ONE thing you promised yourself — or someone else — that you didn’t follow through on. Don’t dwell on it. Just wrap it up. Choose one: Do it right now. Even if it’s just the quick 2-minute version, it counts. Reschedule it out loud, specifying an exact time. Say, “Tomorrow at 7am.” Avoid vague terms like “soon.” Cross it off your list. Honestly, it didn’t really matter — be truthful with yourself here. And that’s it. That’s the entire process. Here’s why this works: an open loop is like a little nagging reminder that you didn’t keep your word — it’s proof that you’re not following through. But when you close that loop, even if it’s just by rescheduling, you’re showing that you’re someone who takes care of things instead of letting them linger. You only truly fail if you give up. Closing the loop isn’t giving up — it’s honoring your commitment to yourself about what comes next. Share your loop below — what did you close tonight, and which option did you choose? I’ll be hanging out in the comments!
