The First Three Words
Think of one thing you've wanted to say lately and swallowed. To your boss, your wife, a buddy, a client. You know the one.
Now write down just the first three words of that sentence. Not the whole speech. Three words.
"I need to..." "Here's what I..." "I disagree, and..." "That doesn't work..."
Today, the moment the opening shows up, say those three words out loud. Once they're out, the rest follows. You're not rehearsing the whole conversation, you're just removing the door.
Here's why it works: staying quiet isn't usually about not knowing what to say. It's about the gap between knowing and starting. Rehearsing the full sentence five times is just replay with extra steps. Three words closes the gap before your head can talk you out of it.
The moment to speak is uncomfortable exactly once. Staying silent costs you every time after.
Drop your three words below. You don't have to post the whole sentence, just the opening.
